The Ambassador Theater is delighted to present the Washington DC premiere of Summer at Nohant, a Romantic-period comedy in three acts, celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Frederic Chopin’s birth. Nohant, the estate of Aurore Dudevant, known to the world as George Sand is an artists' retreat where Frederic Chopin, is composing his sonata in B minor. His music echoes the longings and frustrations of the inhabitants. George Sand and Chopin have been together for almost 8 years and, as she herself says, "Chopin is not my guest, he is part of the household." In fact, Sand treats Chopin more as her son than her lover, having been relegated to the position of nurse by his chronically frail health.
